Worldwide offer rejected
Negotiators have rejected out of hand a 2.2% pay offer from BBC Worldwide Ltd.
The offer, which is timed for 1 July 2006 and includes a minimum increase of £250, came in response to a claim for RPI plus 2.3% - the increase in licence fee last month.
Falling short of the 2.5-3.0% range set by pay talks in Siemens and BBC Resources earlier this year, it came just weeks after Worldwide had been basking in press publicity after declaring record profits.
In Red Bee Media, previously BBC Broadcast Ltd, a claim has been submitted for a 5% pay rise, with a minimum increase of £900.
The claim also covers staff in Broadcast Data Services, which was bought from Worldwide, and has a pay settlement date one month earlier than Red Bee's 1 August anniversary.
A claim for thousands of BBC staff, whose settlement date is also 1 August, is still being discussed by unions, and is likely to be submitted shortly.
