Cassidy wins trustee election

Grant Cassidy has won the election to become a trustee of the BBC pension scheme.

BECTU member Grant was backed by all BBC unions, and won by 2551 votes compared to 1216 for James Price and 487 by Nick Haydon.

Grant, who works as a Senior Studio Manager in Radio, will take up his position as BBC pensions trustee from 6 May 2006.

Grant says: "I am passionate about the BBC and consider myself a lifer. With this year's likelihood of changes to the pension scheme it has never been more important that staff are properly represented on the board of trustees."
