Pensions: vote for Cassidy

Unions are backing BECTU member Grant Cassidy in a ballot to elect a trustee of the BBC pension scheme.

Grant works as a Senior Studio Manager in BBC Radio, and has been in the Corporation since 1990.

An experienced union representative, he is currently a member of the BBC/union National Joint Council, which conducts BBC-wide bargaining on pay and conditions of service.

Grant says: "I am passionate about the BBC and consider myself a lifer. With this year's likelihood of changes to the pension scheme it has never been more important that staff are properly represented on the board of trustees."

The election, to replace another union trustee Jenny Kimber, closes at 1700 on 10 March 2006.
