News action starts

Industrial action in London News Support has started.

This follows the introduction of unagreed working hours changes in IT areas of News Support.

86% of members balloted voted in favour of regular periods of industrial action - this is taking place on Monday and Wednesday between 0500 and 0900 and/or 2000 and 2300.

The action had been suspended in early October to allow talks to take place between the union and management in an attempt to resolve the dispute.

However no significant progress was made and therefore the industrial action is following the plan originally announced.
