Worries about I&A future
The union is concerned about the future of Information & Archives.
Union representatives in Information & Archives (I&A), part of Finance, Property and Business Affairs Division, are braced for major proposals to change working practices, along with the possible closure of the Windmill Road Library.
Management, accused by reps of a fait accompli, have already closed the Bush House I&A centre, which took many programme makers by surprise, and Music Cataloguing has been moved to Ariel Way in West London.
Plans to close the book library have provoked a well supported staff petition to Greg Dyke, and the union is determined that any move out of Windmill Road when the BBC's lease expires is subject to proper consultation before any decisions are made.
