CTA transfer
English regional CTAs have transferred out of Resources Ltd.
Following discussions with management, covering around 70 staff, CTAs (Central Technical Areas) in the English regions transfer from Resources Ltd into the Nations and Regions this month (April 2003). In Manchester five staff from the Broadcast Engineering Test Room also transfer.
More than 90% of BECTU members voted to accept a TUPE package which offered £250 as a compensation for their change of pay date from April to the BBC standard of August.
The transfer marks a significant reduction in the number of staff employed by Resources Ltd outside London.
Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol CTA staff, involved in communications and distribution, follow the footsteps of colleagues in Radio Production Resources, and the Resources areas of the three nations of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, in moving from Resources Ltd.
The CTA transfer means that Resources Ltd now includes the following departments:
- London Television Centre Studios
- London Television OBs
- Post Production in London, Birmingham and Bristol
