New Technology structure

A major reorganisation of BBC Technology has been proposed.

The plans cover the overall structure of Technology and are proposed to be introduced in April 2003.

The change impacting on most staff is the formation of Managed Services Operations bringing together broadcast areas, such as Broadcast Engineering, and IT related areas, to be managed by Adrian Corcoran.

Also included is the introduction of a New Business section, which contains new media and sales, and the new post of Chief Technology Officer to be filled by Peter Lickiss.

The current proposals cover the overall structure of Technology and the top level management. It is expected further proposals will be made later covering the areas within the new sections such as Managed Services Operations.
