Trustee re-elected

Union-backed Ian Pollock has been re-elected a Pension Trustee.

NUJ member Ian Pollock won re-election as a Trustee of the BBC Pension Fund with 3023 votes, against 992 for the only other candidate, and will now serve his second six-year term.

His election was backed by BECTU, NUJ and Amicus.

Despite producing a clear outcome, the ballot did not run as smoothly as planned, with many staff complaining that their voting papers arrived only after the closing date of 29 March 2002.

BECTU has passed on complaints from members who were disenfranchised, but accepts that the winning margin was so great that it could not be overturned by lost votes.
