BBC cuts 2007
In October 2007 BBC management proposed a wide-ranging set of cuts, following the Corporation's lower than expected Licence Fee increase, including:
- Up to 2,500 staff redundancies, mainly in the Vision and News Divisions.
- Scrapping Unpredictability Allowance (UPA) for all new staff from early 2008.
- Ending preferable pension discounting in April 2010 for staff being made redundant.
